Supporting care reformWe work to increase awareness of the harmful effect of institutions on children's lives. Even those that are guided by the best intentions can never replace the benefits of a loving and nurturing family environment. To do this, we conduct and collate industry-leading research for change-makers to use worldwide

Training professionalsOur vision to see every child grow up in safe and loving families is too big for us alone to realise. To make this vision a reality, we work to train and educate care professionals and assist governments in the process of moving away from raising children in institutions to caring for children in families within supported communities—from building child assessment processes to the redirecting of funds into family and community care projects.

Keeping families togetherEmergencies like natural disasters or war can greatly increase the risk of family separation. To support the efforts to avoid this risk, we have worked in emergency zones, providing emergency aid when families need it most.

Working with partnersWe help our partners leverage resources to make real and lasting change for children. This strategy is flexible and sustainable, and rooted in evidence of success.

Influencing and advocatingTo create global, meaningful change in the way children are cared for, we partner with advocates and allies at every level: from international decision-makers to children and their families.

Child & youth participationYouth participation is the empowerment of children and young people to be decision-makers in their own lives, leaders in their communities, and to have a voice in policymaking.
