JUAN PABLO IS HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS THIS YEAR
Life has not been easy for Juan Pablo. He has faced numerous challenges, navigating his sister’s battle with cancer, living with autism and experiencing the displacement of his family during the pandemic. After living on the streets due to financial hardship, he and his sisters were placed into a residential care programme.
Thankfully, they were reunited with their mother and now look forward to a brighter future. Despite these challenges, Juan Pablo has grown in confidence, and thanks to Lumos’s participation network, he has become the heart of discussions – even suggesting actions for policymakers in his community.
Juan Pablo has become a leader and has the tools to help him understand that his value goes beyond economic condition or disability. I look forward to seeing how Juan Pablo and the children in the network become impactful leaders as they continue to develop.
