Lumos has joined Vote for Children, a coalition campaign working to ensure that children’s issues stay on top of the agenda for the European elections in May 2019.
"We must protect children's rights and continue to ensure their voices are heard as new MEPs are elected," said Debra Jones, Global Advocacy and Campaigning Director.
All members of the Vote for Children coalition are organisations that are working on children’s issues.
Using our combined voices, we are calling on candidate members of the European Parliament (MEPs) to become a #ChildRightsChampion, committed to:
- BREAKING the cycles of poverty, inequality and conflict for future generations
- INVESTING in children inside and outside Europe
- LISTENING to children’s voices, INVOLVING them in decisions affecting them and ACTING on children’s views
More information about these priority areas, and our '7 key asks for future MEPs', can be found on the Child Rights Manifesto website: www.childrightsmanifesto.eu.
By becoming Child Rights Champions, candidate MEPs will send a clear message that they are committed to delivering for children in the next European Parliament.
