An evaluation of the Inclusive Education model for children with profound disabilities and complex needs.
The Inclusive Education Unit (IEU) is a unique service in Moldova which ensures access to education for children with profound disabilities and complex needs. The IEU was developed and piloted in one region by Lumos Foundation in Moldova. The aim is to replicate this model of care across the country.
Lumos has therefore commissioned UCL Centre for Inclusive Education to conduct a mid-term evaluation of the IEU, to assess the impact, effectiveness and sustainability of this model in Moldova.
'We are very grateful. There are so many children in local areas still at home. It is not normal. They should have the opportunity to be able to learn’.
Grandparent of a pupil at the Inclusive Education Unit, Petre Stefanuca Lyceum, Ialoveni, Moldova.
