Lumos strives to increase awareness about the harmful effect of institutions on children's lives. Even those that are guided by the best intentions can never replace the benefits of a loving and nurturing family environment.
By helping to achieve deeper public and political understanding of the value of providing good care and making the right investments, we can end the institutionalisation of children worldwide.

Our mission is to end institutionalisation around the world so every child can have a family of their own.
THE COST OF CHANGE
Evidence shows that community-based services are more cost-effective than institutions, and are better for children's overall well-being.
WORKING WITH OTHERS
We use the flexible, proven and sustainable strategy of working closely with advocates and allies, helping them to leverage their resources in support of lasting change.
